Pearl 80s orphan build

This kit was a complete orphan build and more. All the parts except the floor tom came as individual parts from either eBay or old drums. Wrapped in copper oyster (tiger kit) it all came together in a vibrant finish and certainly gave the drums a new lease of life. The bass and the mounted tom were nice maple pearls maybe a DLX or similar line and the floor was a late 80s Export. Sizes are: 20×14, 13×9, 16×16 and inspired from the Ludwig Superbeat of the 60’s.

This is what was done:

• Shells sanded and bass and top tom finished with a clear oil finish, floor tom painted black
• All shells wrapped in copper oyster wrap
• All hardware cleaned and polished
• New Gibraltar Pro bass spurs fitted
• Old style bass drum mount, IMS tom bracket and classic 80s tom arm sourced
• New beech hoops sprayed satin black with oyster insert
• Remo heads cleaned and stick marks removed
